Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) introduces Jyortirgamaya,
a first-of-its-kind initiative in the history of higher education in India. Jyortirgamaya
facilitates any student who fulfils requisite eligibility criteria to take the examination
of the select courses listed below on the basis of her / his self-study and preparation
of the domain knowledge pertaining to the concerned area.
For the benefit of such students, who may not have
taken admission to the university in the regular course, as well as for anyone seeking
knowledge and wiling to improve upon her/his current knowledge base, BAOU has created
the "Open Matrix Knowledge Advancement Resource" (OMKAR) a digital repository of
all the study material of all the courses of BAOU on her website. OMKAR provides
free, pen and easy access to the high quality study-material of all the BAOU Courses
in e-text format on-line.
Having accessed and studied the BAOU study-material
available through OMKAR or having accessed such knowledge from any credible source
available across the world, if a student feels the necessity for validation of her/his
knowledge through due assessment, Jyortirgamaya provides such an opportunity under
rules.
