course description :

Group A : Core Courses (20 Credits - 15 Theory + 5 Practical)

Considering the job requirement of school teachers and the broad programme objectives, the following five core courses of 4 credits each are identified :

2. ES-332 Psychology of Learning & Development 3+1 Credits
3. ES-333 Educational Evaluation 3+1 Credits
4. ES-334 Education and Society 3+1 Credits
5. ES-335 Teacher and School 3+1 Credits

Group B : Content-Based Methodology Course (8 Credits - 6 Theory + 2 Practical)

Considering qualification and teaching experience gained in school subjects, out of the following list of school subject any two courses (each of 4 Credits - 3 Theory + 1 Practical) are to be chosen :

7. es-347 Teaching Of Sanskrit 3+1 Credits

Group C : Special Course (4 Credits - 3 Theory + 1 Practical)

Out of the following list, one course has to be opted for :

1. ES-361 Educational Technology 3+1 Credits
2. ES-362 Computer in Education 3+1 Credits
3. ES-363 Guidance and Counseling 3+1 Credits
4. ES-364 Distance Education 3+1 Credits

In each of the above 8 courses of Group A, B, and Coupled by the learner, one credit out of the four is assigned to the practical assignment.

Group D : Practical Course (16 Credits)

In this set of courses emphasis is laid on skill development. The practical work is based on the subject/content presented in the various theory courses.

The practical experiences are suitably categorized and organized under the following three practical courses :

1. ES-381 School-based Practicals 3+1 Credits
2. ES-382 Workshop-based Practicals 3+1 Credits
3. ES-383 Practice Teaching 3+1 Credits

In addition the above mentioned three practical courses, the programme includes 8 credits of practical assignments of Group A, B, and c Courses.

Eligibility :

In-service teachers with :

A bachelor or higher degree from a recognized university, and
Two years full time regular teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate Teachers in primary, secondary/higher/senior secondary school recognized by the central or state government or a union territory are eligible to take admission.

Admissions are done on the basis of the score obtained in the Entrance Test.

DURATION :

2 years duration but students may take up to 5 years to complete Admissions are done on the basis of the score obtained in the Entrance Test.
